Contracted by SAS Energy, we delivered support for a 1000kW carport system.

This involved digging foundations with our own Bobcat wheel saw before installing rebar cafes holding 7m3 of X40 concrete to form the foundations.  We then fitted large bluetop uprights with gull wing arms to then be able to install purlins to house the roof sheeting. Once the frame was assembled, groundworkers came in and made good all tarmac’ing and line painting within the designated area. Whilst this was taking place, another team installed panels on top of the canopies. We also dug continuous runs of trench works to accommodate all cabling back to central inverter stations based in two locations.

Each bay had a 2-week window from breaking ground to completion and re-opening making this a challenging job.  Overall, there were 15 car port bays across the site.
